It’s funny how some weeks seem to have a theme … this week the theme is money!
Lots of people don’t like talking about money but we’ve decided to be really transparent and keep you updated on where things are at. So here’s the news:
- This week we had two donations to 500 Hours core, totalling $300. This brings us up to 3% of our $15,000 target for 2011.
- The registrar provided us with the total this morning for the money banked as a result of the flood fundraising – $1051.50 (YAY!)
- Today the Hula Helps micro-project reached 40% of its funding goal on pozible, with 80 days still to go
- Our grant to Barnados and OfficeMax (on behalf of the school) was successful. The school now has $2400 to pay a reading tutor for senior students with high support needs.
We’re also looking at a couple of other grants at the moment. One that we’ll *definitely* work with the school to apply for is an AIR (artist-in-residence) grant (Arts Queensland + Australia Council). We’re hoping to get Circa into the school in Term 3 to run workshops in acrobalance, manipulation and aerials.
We are aiming to get an extra $100,000 into the school by the end of 2011. Fingers crossed.
